On December 18, 2023, The Jonesboro Majestic Marching Cardinals drumline and the Majestic Dancing Dolls kicked off the 4th Annual G5 Holiday Give Back shopping event, in partnership with Walmart #3205 in Lithia Springs, Ga! The drumline lead G5 Volunteers and Walmart Associates into the store, followed by a special performance! This is the second consecutive year our organization has partnered with Walmart in Lithia Springs.
For the students' selfless decision and willingness to give back to the community on the first day of their official holiday break, G5 Party Bus showed their appreciation for this act of kindness with a $500 donation to the Jonesboro HS Band Program! This donation was quickly matched by Dr. Fuller, an attendee and avid supporter of our organization. Dr. Fuller even made an additional donation to our organization that allowed us to add another family to this give back! Transportation for Jonesboro HS was donated by the nation's largest privately owned transportation company, Academy Bus!
Each year during the holiday season our organization allows families that are in need to submit a request for assistance via our website. We then go through these submissions to find the families we feel are most in need and can truly benefit from this give back. To be eligible for our assistance, applicants must submit on behalf of a family (no individuals), be residents of Fulton, Clayton, or Dekalb counties, and employed. This give back is not a handout and is in place to only help families that are in need of assistance through the holiday season.
This SUCCESSFUL shopping event was held for the G5 Volunteers to fulfill the provided holiday wish lists of the selected families! The G5 Holiday Give Back is directly funded by donations received at the Annual G5 Gives Back Gala, that is held in November!
Furthermore, our organization was surprised by the local coverage our give back and shopping event received from FOX 5 News and 11Alive News!
